Dun Sully My Name
We’ve been longtime fans of Sully here at Bruk so we were pleased to hear that the next release on Blackdown‘s Keysound Recordings was coming from him.
The Loot Remix on the A side is really impressive with Sully creating a nice tension between the melancholy in the ringing piano chords and the ravey percussive pops and bolshy square wave bassline.
He fully abandons any soulful understatement on In Some Pattern which chops between divebombing, grainy leads, crisp handclaps and rolling breaks. Theres a certain Untold-esque cartooniness to the B side which makes it feel like a bit of a departure for Sully.
This release and Grievous Angel‘s Soundclash remix mark a real step forward for Keysound, and with an LV EP scheduled for 2010 it’s only gunna get better.
