CROCODILE T€ARS

It will be clear to anyone that’s heard Deadboy’s 2009 rave anthem You Cheated that he likes his house accompanied by a big syrupy helping of saccharine R&B. The awesome So Bones picked up on this penchant for sickly heavyweight jams and booked Deadboy’s brilliantly named alter-ego DJ T€ARJ£RK£R for their dance at Catch last week. His flawless selection had all the trendy gyal dem whining lower than their anorexia-induced-brittle-boned-legs were used to so we thought we should chase the boy up and get him to contribute something to Bruk.
The result is this exclusive 40 minute mix which takes in a whole range of his US influences from R&B through to jerk via hiphop and crunk. Tracks from all the current big hitters sit alongside more obscure bits from ones to watch and Deadboy’s own crushing refix of Ashanti’s The Way That I Love You. You get the feeling this is one that’s gonna get blazed again and again.
If you’re left desperate for more then make sure to check Deadboy’s beautifully melancholic refix of Cassie’s Long Way To Go on his Myspace player. You can also catch him playing the newly reinstated FWD on March 18th at Plastic People.
